Rove Live - Friday November 17th, 2006

UPDATE: This episode has been cancelled due to the passing of Rove’s wife. No word yet on when/if this will be rescheduled.

Rove McManus brings you another fun-packed show featuring Sacha Baren Cohen’s character Borat, a Kazakhstani journalist promoting his new film ‘Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan’, and house band Burn The City performing on Rove Live screening on Friday, November 17th at 9:30pm on 3.

Borat is a fictional Kazakhstani journalist invented and portrayed by the British comedian provocateur Sacha Baron Cohen. Borat has humourously been described on his official website as “the seventh most famous person in Kazakhstan.”

The character appeared irregularly on Da Ali G Show, with sketches featuring him often relying on outrageous behaviour and actions, and the reactions of uninformed individuals around him. In some cases, Borat’s guests embrace his anti-Semitism and misogyny by agreeing with him, while other guests attempt to explain Western values to him.

A film titled ‘Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan’ is low-budget mockumentary comedy about Borat trying to understand the American culture, and has received rave reviews at various film festivals around the world.

The hilarious Borat will be interviewed by Rove before hard-core Melbourne punk band Burn The City take the stage to perform.

Don’t miss another great night of entertainment as Rove Live screens on Friday, November 17th at 9:30pm on 3.
