Heroes: should it have only a few seasons?

Amit, an Auckland blogger has just seen the first seven episode of Heroes:

It is an interesting series. It is trying to do something different but by the same token it is caught up within the norms of a T.V series. It has some really strong story threads and some really weak threads as well. It would be interesting to see where they take this series and hopefully it will have limited seasons instead of a long winding, never-ending series.

If they can write it so it doesn’t get too convoluted and lame, then I’m happy for it to go longer… There’s a lot they can do with this premise.

Amit does make a good point. we’ve see alot of good shows that loose it’s dramatic twists and plots in it’s 2nd or 3rd season; 24 & lost especially. and when they get to the 4th season, the creativity sort of dies away in the show, allowing the audience to loose interest, and it kind of dies away.

However, on the other hand, this ain’t your average show we’re talkin about here. We should give the writers, especially Tim Kring the benefit of the doubt. i mean they’ve suprised us this far already, like no other show has. What’s to say, what they could come up in the 2nd season, 3rd or even 4th.

Personally, i think Tim Kring is ahead of his time, and anyone elses for that matter. The plots & twists he puts into this show is so unpredictible. It’s like he’s a master-chess player, countering our every thought of prediction. What you may think will happen; not only has he thought of it, but he’s put out 20 other possibilites as to what could happen, to make you choose from, that has a good twist to the storyline.

So i definetly hope it goes on from a 3rd season.

I think this show could go for at least 7 seasons (a usual run in succsessful shows of this type). Theres enough storylines with the characters that it could go for that long, and the fact that most of the characters haven’t even met each other yet (unusual since in most shows the main character would have met each other in the first episode) means that the show still has quite a lot of interesting material to explore when the characters do come together (though hopefully its not too soon as its interesting to see the characters remain unaware of each other’s existence).
