Mitre 10 Dream home in Whakatane

Monday, February 5, 7.30pm on TV2

Host Jayne Kiely is back on our screens tonight with the eighth series of Mitre 10 Dream Home screening on TV2 from 7.30pm.

This year’s Mitre 10 Dream Home is set in Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty. Two Eastern Bay of Plenty couples will compete against each other as they renovate two identical state houses. Over a series of weekends the blue team and the yellow team – with the help of experts, friends and family – do up neighbouring homes. Each couple is determined to win the vote of the judges, and the vote of the public, so that after all of their hard work they will win their Dream Home.

In tonight’s first episode, the scene is set at Mitre 10 Whakatane, where Jayne Keily announces the six couples who will spend a week preparing their Dream Home ideas to present to a panel of three judges. The couples are all given the brief to keep in mind a “green” theme, focusing on sustainability. Of the six couples competing with their ideas, only two couples will be selected. In tonight’s show, viewers find out who.

Mitre 10 Dream Home screens Monday, February 5, at 7.30pm on TV2.
