Filmed over the course of a year, Through the Eyes of the Young is a dramatic account of adulthood. By drawing upon a vast spectrum of participants, the film offers new perspective on education, sport, drugs, music, parenthood, love and sex: key subject matter at the heart of the twenty-something population. orey, 20 is a reformed armed robber, desperately seeking a new life. Will his dreamy aspirations become a reality? A delighted 19 year old Gemma celebrates her A level results; what will her next life goal be? A Fasiane Nuclear Base in Scotland witness Jenny 20, a tireless environmental campaigner, passionately voices her concerns on the use of nuclear arms. Mark, 20 has dreams of one day rowing for Great Britain at the Olympic Games. He needs tireless commitment and great determination. As well as conventional filming methods, tiny cameras placed beside the eyes of those taking part give a true flavour of the young adults’ perspective on the world. In addition modern poetry and song lyrics intersperse the narrative, giving a rich cultural flavour.
