This documentary series investigates some of the worst man-made and natural disasters. Re-enactments, interviews, testimony, and CGI are used to analyse and deconstruct the sequence of events seconds before the disaster and the lessons that came out of the investigations. Tonight: Amsterdam Air Crash. The fate of flight El Al 1862 led to one of the biggest aircraft modification programmes in recent history when it crashed into two apartment blocks in October 1992. Two of the plane’s engines had sheered off completely, creating a huge fireball, and a design concept aimed at saving lives actually caused the deaths of 43 people.
