Unique world first TV listings coming to Throng

On Monday the 24th of September, Throng.co.nz will launch a unique world-first TV listings format.

These new listings have done away with the traditional grid presentation and make it much easier to find out what’s on TV. The listings incorporate one’s own personal preferences as well as the overall popularities of shows.

After developing the concept for more than two years, we’re incredibly excited to finally be launching the new format.

Much thanks to the Beta testers who have been providing feedback as we’ve tweaked things over the last few weeks.

    I have been using this feature for ages (as a beta tester). I didn’t really come across any bugs, except for a Maori Television problem.

    I don’t use TVNZ’s full television listings anymore, which I use to use a lot.

    It’s fantastic. Like nzgabriel, I no longer use TVNZ’s TV listings, because Throng’s way is much easier! Being able to personalize it is great too.

    That sounds good. How does it compare to the NZ City listings, which is what I use? They allow you to customise the columns to only include the TV channels you want to view, which suits me as I don’t get Prime TV where I live

    You can’t compare the new listings to any other that you currently use because we’ve done away with the grid.

    It might take a little getting used to something new, but it is definitely a million times better.

    Sorry but I don’t like the listings. I can’t find anything. I want to see days/weeks ahead, not just the next hour or two. Also when I click on a program it doesn’t take me to program details. Either link to the TV Channels info or the programs home page. Bouncing me to a throng page called mini-series is a waste of time.

    Do I really have to select each show to do the love/hate and not just an option on the main show listing page for each one?

    That and as someone else pointed out what about a quick glance for all shows coming up over a period of time by channel…

    If you edit your profile settings, you can see your loves/hates in bulk in there :)
