The extraordinary strive to be ordinary four months after the explosive events in New York, but deadly new threats loom as brand-new individuals with abilities emerge worldwide in the season premiere of Heroes, screening Monday, October 22nd at 8:30pm.
Tim Kring, creator of the series says that the second season will constitute a new volume in the multi-volume series, with new characters and an entirely new storyline. “If you remember, the opening of the pilot pronounced the episode as the beginning of Volume One,” Kring said. “Volume One came to a conclusion at the end of episode 23, and Volume Two starts with the opening of season two. And Volume Two is a different story,” he says.
“We could have new people and new storylines and new ideas and new threats and new bad guys and new heroes. So I would prepare the audience for that idea, that it’s not just a continuing serialised storyline about only these people. It’s a little more the 24 model than the Lost model,” Kring said.
The first season of Heroes explored what happened when a disparate group of ordinary people discover they have extraordinary abilities and attempt to save New York from disaster.
“Heroes needs to evolve, and if we are posting an idea that this is happening all over the world to many, many people, then we get to see some of those people and see how their story fits in,” Kring said.
Kring also confirmed that some of the current heroes just might not survive this season, but added, “Many of your favourites will live to fight again.”
The second volume of Heroes begins with the fates of Peter (Milo Ventimiglia), Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) and Matt (Greg Grunberg) being revealed, following the horrible showdown with Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and Peter’s uncontrolled nuclear detonation miles above New York City.
As everyone attempts to move on, a new sinister force begins stalking and murdering Heroes. With the family hiding in Southern California, H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and Claire (Hayden Panettiere) attempt to live as inconspicuously as possible, which proves to be easier said than done.
Meanwhile, after landing in feudal Japan, Hiro (Masi Oka) meets his hero Takezo Kensei (David Anders). Twins, Maya (Dania Ramirez) and Alejandro Herrera (Shalim Ortiz) hope to make the crossing into the U.S. from Mexico, in hopes of finding help with their deadly abilities.

Find out how the story continues in the action packed season two premiere of Heroes, screening Monday, October 22nd at 8:30pm on 3.
