A TASTE OF SOUTHERN CUISINE FOR KAI TIME ON THE ROAD

Maori Television’s warm and witty chef Pete Peeti is back dishing up more mouth-watering servings of his tasty food show KAI TIME ON THE ROAD – premiering on Sunday March 2 at 7.00 PM.

With a refreshingly simple cooking style, Pete inspires everyone with his relaxed approach to food. You will not find Pete reciting lists of fiddly ingredients for his superb creations; instead, his mantra is ‘fresh is best’.

The sixth series of KAI TIME ON THE ROAD has the show travelling to the South Island. Pete says it was a fantastic opportunity to attend some of the South’s famous and infamous food festivals.

“I also got to travel up into the high country and meet some of the real characters there – plus create some truly memorable meals with fantastically fresh kai. What more could you ask?”

Pete is a professional chef with lots of experience in marae kitchens as well as restaurants and cafes. In 1990, his culinary skills received national recognition when he won the prestigious Apprentice of the Year Award. For 10 years, Pete was head chef at Rotorua restaurant Rendezvous and Freos Café.

KAI TIME ON THE ROAD is produced by Rotorua-based Maui Productions who also make the all-male advice panel show WHATUKURA and ultimate Maori warrior reality show TOA: TOA O AOTEAROA for Maori Television.

Join Pete Peeti as he cooks up a storm in all-new episodes of KAI TIME ON THE ROAD – premiering on Maori Television on Sunday March 2 at 7.00 PM.
