Wheel of Fortune - Updated Information

Hey there, just wanting to confirm a few things I found out about WoF when I went to the weekend filming.

– Jason Gunn is the official host. He is assisted by the lovely Sonia Grey.
– You can also have a chance to win by playing at home. You can txt the puzzle answer in for the chance to win big prizes.
– Saturday they filmed the final pilot show for TVNZ executives, and are looking to get underway fully in April.
– Filming will comprise of doing 5 shows a night when it’s underway.
– It all looks FANTASTIC!!! (Or as David Tua would say, O for Orsome!)

Hope everyone had a good easter and is looking forward to seeing WoF back on your screens soon! 😀

    Great news Ed.

Do we have a start date yet?

  • ell

was supposed to have been April 7th but I understand this has been pushed back

  • Cantab

Can you give us any information about the set? Does Sonia turn the letters or push a screen to light up the letter(like in the united states)

    Cheers

Katipo: No start date as yet. Grant Walker (I think he might be producer/director but he was on set and seemed to be running the show) said he doesn’t know

Cantab: The set is very impressive. There’s the standard wheel and the three contestants behind it, with Jason next to them by the wheel. Also Sonia doesn’t turn the letters. There’s a button by the square which lights up, and when pushed the letter changes.

Swifty, is there any audience interaction with the show apart from the clapping etc?

  • swiftynz

Other than clapping and yelling “Top Dollar” and stuff like that? No 🙁

Thanks heaps for the info swiftynz 🙂

Anytime. I’ll let you know if I hear anything else about WoF or any other shows 😀

    Thanks for the reply Swifty..

    More questions..

Is there 5 rounds?(including prize round)
Do contestants win cash or choose from prizes?
    What is the top prize?
…and i know this may sound trivial (lol)… Is the puzzle board 4 lines high or 3?

    Cheers

  • swiftynz

They fit in as many rounds before the 2nd ad break as far as I understand. And if they start to run out of time Jason spins the wheel and then each person guesses a letter and then has a go at the phrase until someone gets it.

Contestants go away with cash. Whoever has the most cash at the end of the standard rounds goes on to the bonus wheel, where they spin for a number of prizes such as a new car, a room with a view, etc.

Not sure what the top prize on the wheel is but in the bonus round I saw them film it was a new Aston Martin.

If my memory serves me correctly, the puzzle board is 4 lines high 🙂

🙁 I was hoping they’d stick to turning the blocks.

  • swiftynz

Yea would be great. In the pilot filming Sonia pressed a button but the letter didn’t change until she pressed it again. Looked rather stupid. The turning blocks would probably be better!
