TV3's switchboard runs hot over Underbelly move

TV3′s switchboard ran hot last night with the phones not stopping from between 9:00pm and 11:00pm with disgruntled viewers, many who were rude and abusive, calling because Underbelly had not been shown in its normal timeslot. Many threatened to call back to talk to the head of programming which may explain why we were unable to reach her for comment.

Callers were all wanting to know why the show had been moved to such a late timeslot which made it difficult to watch for those who need to be up early for work. One caller though, a shift worker, had woken from his sleep to watch the show only to learn the show was not on.

Underbelly has been a huge hit in Australia despite it not airing in the state of Victoria due to legal issues and is rumored to have been picked up for a second season by Channel Nine.

    Thanks to Throng I knew it had been moved, otherwise I’d also have phoned to complain.

    I encourage all viewers to also post via the TV3 website. This is shocking treatment of what is by far the best program on TV3 at the moment.

    I suppose it will be the “pigs” who were rude with TV3 that get their way, while gentlemen like me (& others) get shifted on other issues, (& a right pain in the neck for throng.co moderator, who has to read my crap) [I must go away and take my pill.]

    My girlfriend and I have taken some pleasure in the outrage directed at TV 3 for the change of viewing time for Underbelly.Sacking the programmer is their only option.

    We also are boycotting TV 3 until the timeslot is changed back.
    I hope others are doing the same

    and also, try moving on: TV3 don’t like their viewers very much. end of story. get over it.

    OK lets stop playing games, and get serious, and stop wasting “ThrongTime”.

    I suppose it is all to do with the “Ratings Game”
    Does “Underbelly“ show up in the top 20?,
    Does any TV3 program show up in the top 20?
    if not
    What kind of people make up the top 20? and are they a few can short of a 6 pack?
    Lets assume the people who make up the top 20 TV programs are morons, they have to be total morons, if they can not switch to TV3 now and again, or to put another way, why cant more TV3 programs end up on the top 20 list?

    Why cant we make up our own “top 20 TV shows” or why cant TV3 web site do some kind or viewer survey, so they ultimately prove they the “top 20” is a fake list and get a true top 20 put together by real viewers.

    Take last night I never watched any program with 100% commitment, while I did other things.
    I watched prime Mythbusters (because it was a lot of shit, but interesting from technical angle)
    I watched a few minutes of TV3 Target (I am sure I seen it before or was it just doing another rant of “fast food” rankings)
    I never watched any TV2.
    As for TV1 that was like putting ones mind into a time capsule to rust away, while your body ages, like the sands grains in a hour glass, just falling down.
    And that was the TV lot for the night, I went to bed with the “light on” so I would be bright in the morning.

    I think Underbelly should not be shown on tv!!! No way!! They should not of even released it on dvd. Its a pathetic way of trying to get ratings for channel 9. This show is rude, Full of sex and stripers and drugs. What kind of example and influence are we setting out to our world if we are going to show crap like this? Then people complain about people going out and doing drugs or raping people or whateve!!! Its a bad influence!!! Im only 20 years old and i think its wrong.. So imagine how alot of other people fell who are older then me. I Seriously think it should be BAND for good!! No tv!! No dvd!!! Make it illegal to have!!
