Episode 1

Tuesday 1 July, 7.30pm

Fearsome British chef Gordon Ramsay is back on TV2 risking his culinary reputation in a third season of the smash hit reality show Hell’s Kitchen. Once again Michelin-starred Ramsay is looking to create a world class chef by taking 12 would-be US restaurateurs through hell and back.

The heat is on and the stakes are high as the contestants endure Ramsay’s gruelling, intense kitchen boot camp for an opportunity to win the ultimate culinary prize – the chance to follow in Ramsay’s footsteps, become a restaurateur and win the coveted title of Head Chef of a new multi-million dollar restaurant in the luxurious Green Valley Ranch Resort, in Las Vegas.
Ramsay grills the ambitious hopefuls as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to run their own restaurant. The Ramsay-fearing wannabes hail from all over America, but share one passion – cooking. Their inexperience, combined with Ramsay’s acid tongue, may be a recipe for disaster, but for aspiring restaurateurs it’s the chance of a lifetime.

“This time around, things are going to be a lot different,” Ramsay says. “In the past, I’ve sometimes been known to lose my temper.” He goes on to explain that this time the competing chefs will not make idiotic mistakes, he will not swear and most importantly, he will not scream – “oh c’mon, who’m I trying to kid?”

Of course there will be the usual liberal sprinklings of real-life drama, high emotion and culinary passion as perfectionist Ramsay attempts to instil his love of all things food into the amateur chefs. He believes to be a great chef you need great attention to detail, passion, and a great work ethic, and that’s what this seasons contestants will need to impress him.

Episode one sees the 12 aspiring chefs head into the one-of-a-kind Hell’s Kitchen – a fine dining restaurant with two fully working kitchens. Chef Ramsay greets them, giving them 30 minutes to get in the kitchen and cook their ‘signature dish’, a dish that represents the best of what they stand for as a chef. When time is up, Ramsay will taste each dish one by one, and decide who will be the first to leave the show.

See who has what it takes to withstand the heat in Hell’s Kitchen – Tuesday at 7.30pm on TV2.
