Shop owner stung twice

When Northland store owner Nick Patel was caught on a hidden camera during a One News sting selling isopropyl to a supposed drug manufacturer he certainly has no idea about the storm of trouble that was about to land on him.

His blasé comments not only landed him in hot water with the reporter on his case but now Foodstuffs, which owns the Four Square brand, have given him less than a months notice that they are ditching him from the chain as he had “sullied Four Square’s family-friendly brand”.

The business was already up for sale and has now been receiving “ridiculous offers” as some believe he is desperate to sell. He’s hoping for a stay of execution from Foodstuffs and hopes to earn a six month reprieve in the hopes of avoiding a fire sale.
