Wipeout coming soon to TV3

TV3 is currently advertising for the upcoming game show series Wipeout – currently the highest rating show show in the US which premiered a month ago.

Each week, 24 contestants race through the world’s largest obstacle course and is said to be inspired by Fear Factor and Japaense game shows – and looks somewhat similar to past Kiwi shows Top Town or The Krypton Factor.

It’s been such a fast smash hit that four countries, including Australia, will be making their own versions. Will New Zealand be next?

Looks like a fun show to watch!

    it would be good if there was a “The Krypton Factor” at the park near you, were you could pop along and “do it” just for a bit of fun. (adult version of fun at the park)

    As for the TV, just more shit, more often.

    I really wish there is going to be a wipeout NZ, maybe when Top Town has finished, because i really want to be in it. :)

    You must be #$%^ing joking!! I had endured some channel surfing on Sunday during Top Gear ad breaks of “Aussie Wipeout” and our own “Top Town” and couldn’t tell the difference, except of course that our version of a water-park obstacle course was far more half-a$$ed than it’s trans tasmanian cousin.

    Bouncing between balls? Check! (NZ version = tiny swiss balls).

    Lots of people falling off obstacles and getting hurt accompanied by “hiallrious” sproing / bone crunching sound effects? Check! (except Australia doesn’t have to put up with ott comentary from Ellis / Havoc)

    Blonde eye-candy female interviewer talking to damp / exhausted / broken contestants? Check!

    Do I need to go on?

    Does Top Town??!!

    trust julie christie to screw with top town. top town is getting a bit tedious. can anyone put up a comparison of how today’s top town compares to the original top town? i never watched it back then
