Campaign Daily to launch on Sky News NZ

SKY News NZ (Channel 90) will launch “Campaign Daily”, a nightly news show dedicated to the New Zealand election campaign.

Prime News First at 5:30 and SKY News Anchor, Eric Young, will host the half hour programme which will screen at 9.00pm Mondays to Fridays from 13 October to 7 November, replay at 11.30 pm and end with a post-election special on Sunday 9th November.

Campaign Daily, a major initiative by SKY News NZ, will also call on the worldwide resources of SKY News to provide in depth and up to the minute coverage of the US presidential election campaign.

John Fellet, SKY Television Chief Executive, says SKY’s aim is to provide comprehensive and informative election coverage for our viewers.

“The new programme will add a significant daily component to SKY’s coverage of the 2008 election campaign which we already provide through Campaign 08, hosted by Bill Ralston, screening weekly on SKY News NZ on Sundays at 8.30 pm.”

SKY News NZ Managing Editor Richard Sutherland says the new initiatives are part of the channel’s long-term growth strategy.

“Campaign Daily provides an unparalleled opportunity for viewers to get the full story from the parties. Our aim is to go beyond the headlines, and find out what the politicians really think.”
