Hot this week

Sneak preview: we bring you the hottest highlights of the Shortland Street week ahead, right here.

Just one week ago PA Libby Jeffries (Fleur Saville) was over the moon when boyfriend Kieran Mitchell (Adam Rickitt) gifted her a brand new expensive car. Despite her reservations about the pricey purchase, it doesn’t take long before Libby’s flash wheels become a fashion necessity for the snobby blonde.

Libby hits a snag in her love affair with the Beemer when it gets stolen. Smelling a rat, Libby takes Kieran to task about the legitimacy of the purchase.

The love life of Shortland Street’s lonely lesbian Maia Jeffries (Anna Jullienne) hits a fork in the road. After a long and loyal friendship with party girl Alice Piper (Toni Potter), Maia realises her feelings may be growing into something more.

In particular of late the two nurses have been sharing a lot more than just a flat with many nights at home talking about stories and secrets. Despite Maia’s private hopes for something a little more, she’s well aware that Alice is romantically linked to surgeon Ethan Pierce (Owen Black).

When Alice falls asleep, Maia is left to contemplate her attraction. Will she make the move on an unwitting Alice?

While Scotty (Kiel McNaughton) has never been known as a commitment-phobe, the big ‘L’ word sends him into a tale spin! While Shanti (Nisha Madhan) has been having some family time in India, Scotty has found himself spending time with old friend Bernadette Hamblyn (Narelle Ahrens).

But things take an uncomfortable twist when he’s horrified to hear her confession of having feelings for a married man.

Assuming that he’s the guy in question Scotty realises he may have led poor Bernie on – while at the same time potentially landing himself in very hot water with the missus. Hear all about Bernie’s object of desire on Shortland Street.
