Hot this week

Sneak preview: we bring you the hottest highlights of the Shortland Street week ahead, right here.

Dirty Doctor Ethan Pierce (Owen Black) loves to live a risky existence and he’s intent on taking his new lover Alice Piper (Toni Potter) along for the ride.

A wild child herself, Alice is no stranger to the thrill of living on the edge, but is shocked at some of the adventures that Ethan has in store for her. When the couple head to the casino for a flutter, a dangerous game ensues when Ethan ups the stakes.

Thousands of dollars later Alice leaves the casino with empty pockets and revenge on her mind. When Alice discovers Ethan has a fear of water the challenge is set…

But the question remains. Will this cocky doctor sink or swim?

It’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black when uptight PA Libby Jeffries (Fleur Saville) gives bad boy Kingi Te Wake (Te Kohe Tuhaka) a dressing down for the dangerous company he keeps.

Officially on the outer from the Jeffries family, Kingi is quick to retaliate with a few home truths for the bossy blonde. Libby is left in a state of disbelief when Kingi imparts his knowledge about her own fiancé Kieran Mitchell’s (Adam Rickitt) dodgy dealings with the Whitetails.

Shattering Libby’s squeaky clean dreams of her bar-owning beau, will Libby be able to accept that her happy ever after is being bank rolled by gang dollars?

Regular viewers will remember brave young Timothy Carson (Austin Taylor). Since his cutting edge surgery to manage his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Timothy has been suffering from un-expected side effects.

Subsequent tests reveal a shocking development in Timothy’s condition. One that will have serious repercussions for several Shortland Street staffers.
