Detective Lindsay Monroe Pregnant on CSI: New York

8:30pm – Tuesday, October 27 on TV 3

Just one week after celebrating its 100th episode, CSI: New York has another exciting twist – the first CSI baby! CSI: New York screens on Tuesday, October 27th at 8:30pm on 3.

Anna Belknap, who portrays Detective Lindsay Monroe on the series, is currently expecting her second child with husband Eric Siegel, and the show is incorporating her pregnancy into the Danny-Lindsay storyline.

“The idea of a baby felt very organic, and would allow for us to develop these characters even further,” Executive Producer Peter Lenkov explains to the CSI Files. “I think we all want to see these characters grow and mature, and this felt right.”

For those who want a little more drama in the form of Danny’s (Carmine Giovinazzo) other love interest, Rikki (Jacqueline Piñol), Lenkov says that “The storyline did indeed change [because of the pregnancy] but don’t write off Rikki just yet.”

Moreover, don’t expect some flowery happy ending for Danny and Lindsay especially as the baby comes around.

“What’s drama without drama?,” says Lenkovs. “I believe it will be the first [baby] for the franchise, and our heroes will just have to juggle parenthood and their jobs. It’ll be fun to write… and watch.”

Lenkov also reveals that in addition to the pregnancy “everyone has some meaty stuff this season. We’re really focused on character this series.”

As for specifics, he says that “If you like Samantha (Kathleen Munroe), then you’re in for a treat. She’s back, and her storyline is great… We’re [also] spending a few episodes exploring Dr. Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper) life before CSI. We’re all very excited about where his character goes this season.”

“We’re leaving no one behind, and no loose ends. We have multiple arcs involving all our characters, and you can be certain none of what we’re writing is predictable.”

As for the reasons behind these changes; “We’re telling stories a bit differently this season. We’ve earned the right to stretch creatively, so we’re making the most of that by making every episode an event.”

Make sure not to miss one such event when Lindsay tells Danny that he’s about to become a father. CSI: New York continues its fifth season on Tuesday, October 27th at 8:30pm on 3.
