Cold Case Season 7 Premiere

8:30pm Tuesday, January 26 on TV One

Detective Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris) returns to take on often forgotten evidence, witnesses with buried memories, uncover fresh clues, dig into old wounds and pursue the truth on the seventh season of Cold Case (tonight at 8.30pm on TV ONE).

Rush is a smart, driven, enigmatic and highly effective detective on the Philadelphia Homicide Squad. Her instinctive understanding of the criminal mind, and her passion for uncovering the truth, makes her the perfect fit for investigating ‘cold cases’ – crimes that have never been solved. She reopens dormant, unsolved murders that occurred months, years or even decades ago.

Rush and her team use their wits to take on aging evidence and witnesses with buried secrets, discovering new evidence and doggedly pursuing the truth.

Joining Rush on her mission are a team of talented detectives: Scotty Valens (Danny Pino), Rush’s confident and strong-willed partner; Nick Vera (Jeremy Ratchford), rough around the edges, but a tough cop, considered the go-to guy for getting a confession; Will Jeffries (Thom Barry), an experienced veteran who’s been around the block and serves as a link to the past; Kat Miller (Tracie Thoms), a streetwise, no-nonsense and resourceful investigator; and lieutenant John Stillman (John Finn), Rush’s respected mentor and sometime father figure.

With their assistance, Rush is able to take on the toughest cases, giving voice to victims unable to speak for themselves. In the season opener, Rush and the team re-open the 1966 case of a young woman who it was assumed committed suicide off the SS Americana making its final round-trip voyage across the Atlantic. However, when her body is discovered is the bowels of the ship, it is evident she was murdered. Guest star Michael Nader (Dynasty)appears as Tucker ‘Duke’ Benton, a dashing man with whom the victim shared a shipboard romance.

Meanwhile, the trial against the military academy official who tried to harm Rush in last season’s finale begins. Recurring guest stars Jonathan LaPaglia (The District) returns as Assistant District Attorney Curtis Bell and Daniel Baldwin (Homicide: Life On The Street) returns as Major Moe Kitchener, who is on trial for running Rush’s car off a bridge during a previous investigation.

Created by the executive producers of the hit shows Without A Trace and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman, along with Meredith Stiehm (ER and NYPD Blue).
