The Daily Show gone, for now at least

If, like Moclak, you had been wondering why The Daily Show hadn’t been screening on C4 despite it returning to the airwaves in the US then here’s your answer.  TV3 have confirmed that they no longer hold the broadcast license for the show.

We asked Comedy Central if they would be screening the series but they refused to confirm anything but did tell us to watch this space.  ”There are a few things being signed off at the moment”, they told us and “an announcement would be made shortly” along with details of the first birthday celebrations.

If the show is joining the Comedy Central schedule, fans won’t be wanting to wait until April for new episodes.  C4 had done a pretty good job at screening the show within hours of the US so if The Daily Show is coming to Comedy Central, viewers will be demanding nothing less considering they’ll now be paying for it through their Sky subscription.

I too have been wondering why The Daily Show didn’t return to C4 last week. I contacted TV3 and they didn’t give me a reason why they weren’t bringing it back. I can’t understand why they wouldn’t want to screen such a great show. Let’s hope Comedy Central puts it on then.
