Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time! PRIME is beyond thrilled to announce the start of Doctor Who, Series 5! And whilst we’ve shed a tear or two for the loveable David Tennant, we are ecstatic to introduce the enigmatic new Doctor played by the adorable Matt Smith. The Eleventh Doctor isn’t the only new face in the Tardis as the Time Lord is joined by the feisty, fantastic new companion, Amy Pond. We can’t give away too much, but we can tell you that after tonight Karen Gillan, aged 21, will be a name to watch! In tonight’s epic first episode the Doctor has regenerated into a brand new man, but danger strikes before he can even recover. With the Tardis wrecked, and the sonic screwdriver destroyed, the new Doctor has just twenty minutes to save the whole world – and only Amy Pond to help him. By the end of this action-packed first episode we guarantee you’ll fall in love with the new Doctor and his beautiful companion, whilst enjoying loads of laughs and a series of nail-biting moments.

    i thought i’d be seeing more ads with less than a week to go, but i don’t think i’ve seen one since they were playing them after easter weekend. sad. prime are usually better at advertising their shows than tvnz or 3.

    I’ve been staying away from sneak previewing the series elsewhere, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked Matt Smith – a nice transition.  Still not sure about Karen Gillan though - was it just our household that noticed her propensity to nearly pop her eyeballs out of her socket every time she was required to look surprised?

    Watching the first eps of David Tennent on UKTV just after regeneration lamenting that he didn’t have red hair – “I’ve always wanted red hai,r never had it though”. This one almost looks like a ginga.
