Grey's Anatomy on TV2

8:30pm Tuesday, June 8 on TV2

The past comes back to haunt Owen (Kevin McKidd), as he succumbs to his dark side, tonight on Grey’s Anatomy.

When Teddy’s (Kim Raver) cancer patient, Kim (Sara Gilbert, The Big Bang Theory and Roseanne), decides to end her treatment and her life, Teddy turns to Owen for help. However, he reacts angrily and the situation triggers a painful flashback for Owen of his life at war and his past relationship with Teddy in Iraq.

McKidd says he did a lot of research for the role, about what it would be like for a medical soldier in Iraq.

“I did a lot of reading, trying to get into the head space of what those trauma rooms are about on a day-to-day basis, just to kind of differentiate in my head the difference and experience that Owen brings with him.”

McKidd commends the network on running the posttraumatic stress disorder storyline, and says there has been a lot of feedback.

“There’s been really positive feedback. I think people felt it was a bit of a gamble to be really talking about this on the show. And I think it’s been a very positive thing.

“A lot of letters have come in from people who have families who are dealing with the fallout of posttraumatic stress and had to pick up lives and had to carry on.”

Elsewhere, Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) have a difference in opinion on what their future holds when the subject of children comes up, and Richard (James Pickens Jr) tries to adjust to his role as a surgeon.
