Just The Job returns to TV2

9:30am Saturday, July 3 on TV2

Just The Job is back on TV2 today, with a brand new season, presenting career options to young Kiwis.

The first episode of the season takes a look at two career options offered by the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Peter Clark from Onehunga High School in Auckland can’t believe his luck when he gets to check out a career as an air warfare specialist aboard the air force P-3K2 Orion. He’s always wanted to be a pilot but when he gets a taste of what the AWS role is all about, he discovers there’s plenty more amazing opportunities with the RNZAF outside of flying the aircrafts.

Elsewhere, student Ashleigh Tauariki teams up with Corporal Jerry Drummond, an air security specialist, to discover what goes into the varied role, experiencing the rifle range, and meeting the dogs that secure the air force base.

Just The Job’s executive producer, Dave Mason, is delighted to be returning with a new batch of exciting career options.

“It’s amazing to be back for our fifth series,” Mason says. “The programme has proven successful because it fulfils a need for this type of information. It’s a milestone for any television programme to get to series five and we’re excited to be offering more of what our viewers want.”

This season, there are more Maori-oriented roles, and Teach NZ careers are part of the show for the first time.

“It’s great that as Just The Job continues to grow and develop we’ve been able to bring on board new organisations and expand the careers we feature,” says Mason. “We’ve now filmed 150 different careers which is a wonderful library of information for viewers.”

“We all know how hard it can be trying to make the best choice when it comes to a career so our aim is to share as much information as possible and show people how they can give it their best shot to secure the job they want.”
