Last night’s episode of Outrageous Fortune, TV3′s biggest audience ever

Last night’s season premiere of Outrageous Fortune not only delivered TV3 the biggest audience of the night, but their biggest audience ever.*

The show drew an average audience of 711,570 viewers, with a 17.7 rating in the 5+ and a 38.2% share.  Previously, TV3′s record was held by CSI, with a 16.3 rating on the 30th of May, 2004.

It was only the 23rd time that TV3 have won a day with the single most watched show.

*Ratings data was only available from 1995.

    Not to take anything away from the fantastic performance of OF on Tuesday, but it was not TV3′s biggest audience.  On 2 occasions during the Rugby World Cup in 2007, they had larger audiences,  841,000 for the final and 1,088,000 for the Quarter final.  However, if memory serves, the largest audience to the channel was for the David Tua fight in November 2000, but I don’t have those numbers.  The Tuesday numbers are likely TV3′s highest Peak time audience ever.

    It looks like the numbers we were given were based on the highest in the 18-49.  Of those, Outrageous also had the highest 5+ numbers.

    I’ll see if I can get the 5+ figures as well.
