Should 16 year olds be posing topless on New Zealand’s Next Top Model?

Ultimately should it not be her parents/her decision? I’m just assuming that she had a choice and was not forced by the photographer or producers of the show. Personally I’d never let my daughter pose topless at that age, but then again I wouldn’t let my daughter even join the show.

This is modelling… all around the world even on America’s Next Top Model, they’ve posed nearly nude. So if you don’t want to see your kids nude on TV don’t let them enter the show – it’s that simple…

To me she looks like a young lady instead of a 16 year old girl! She wears lots of make up also not okay for a 16 year old? Working fultime at 16? What about school? Its a choice she made, growing up fast to enter an adult business in which you sell-out your body to the adverticement industry. I don’t think the picture is pornograpic. And I think that makes the big difference.

Besides this, we were born naked and its normal out here when women sunbathe topless. Think the big fuss is a lot of hypocrisy!

Whats sick? The nudity? Come on! You were made without clothes, you were born without clothing and most men get off on girls exposing their nudity in magazines. Is this what we ppl make of it? The bussiness sick, not the girl who enjoys who she is and feels good in her skin!

First of all, she doesn’t look at all like a mature girl, so I say she is too young to pose nude. She looks like a girl in her young teens despite the clothing and make up and that shouldn’t be sexualized at all! Don’t start with this, what’s next?

Then I think she is way, way too thin, she looks unhealthy, bonesticking skinny, which I think is a no no. If you talk about Samantha Fox in the eighties, she looked at least 18 and she had this gorgeous, CURVY figure.

Can we go back please to healthy, curvy and mature, PLEASE??

Anyone who finds this girl in the picture attractive is in my opinion a bit weird. Which doesn’t rule out she might grow up as a beautiful woman LATER. Maturity adds so much more to a woman.

I think Alexandra that you’re over-reacting or acting out your own frustration big time here. She doesn’t look skinny, I think everything is in proportion. Its often the case with ppl who are being over-weight that they look at “slim” as being too skinny. And nudity is everywhere. You were born naked! Naked can also be an art form and doesn’t have to be sexual. Its not so black and white as being portrayed here in these comments.

We should stop and pause, reflect on whether we should really agree on the morality of a dutchman, which is as we all know, non-existing.

Waar ligt idd de grens tegenwoordig.. Nu is het model 16 en over een jaar? 14! Fotograaf vond het wel ok natuurlijk. Meisje wou het ook zelf. ik vind dat meisjes van die leeftijd niet over zulke dingen mogen beslissen daar heb je ouders voor. Als ze spijt krijgt (wat ongetwijfeld gebeurd nu deze foto heel de wereld over gaat) kan ze het niet meer terugdraaien.

Suzanne, you’re missing the whole point here! I was commenting on her age and then being portrayed nude in a way it is sexualized to the whole world and not just for instance to her 16 year old boyfriend, which would be healthier.

And excuse me, this girl IS skinny, and I can say that being just 60 kg myself and not overweight and therefore not frustrated either, thank you! My weight is perfectly healthy and normal, hers probably isn’t a good rate at BMI, well she would be still a child technically so lets not compare BMI’s then.

I have no problem with nudity at all, on the contrary, being often nude and sexually active myself, but that is with an adult!!! I think at the age this girl is, you shouldn’t start with wanting to be a sexual attractive being to EVERY man and getting the big public used to see girls sexualized at a younger age every year. THAT is what I meant!

And out of her free will? We’ll never know…she is probably so used to this from a young age, also because the media is full with it, so what’s next?

The children in India being married against their will is something different than this and I agree, should be fighted against as well.

If you actually watched this episode of New Zealand’s next top model, you would see that all girls wear a band around their breasts and none of them were topless. Maybe people should stop yelling about things that they don’t know anything about and find out what the actual facts are first, that would help so much in this world…

That being said, I think this is a very nice picture of her! I think she looks a little skinny because she arches her back.

Well… I’m very glad that she is not my daughter.

I know this is modelling, I know that if they don’t do this kind of things, they will never be a top model. On the other hand, the parents did give permission to do this I think?? Well.. who am I to judge then….

Looking at this picture I would label it as artistic (semi)nude. No porn, just compare it to a regular playboy picture and you’ll spot the difference. I think we should not blame this girl for chasing her dream. And maybe not even her parents for letting her. Eventhough she is young, 16 is a legal age to do this kind of poses but only with her own and parental approval. What’s wrong with nudity anyway? It doesnt have to be sexual, it is natural and can be art as well. But if someone wants to think porn/sex, then they’ll see sex. Even if it is not the purpose of the picture. I do aggree on the sad sad sad time we live in where sexuality is too normal. Put on mtv on for 15 min, i bet you’ll find any kind of provocing musicvideo, lyric or commercial. I hate the fact that…

Correction: both singers are working hard for their carreer as well. But if you sing well enough, why would you need to appear (half) naked on tv or in magazines? And still get invited to the children’s choice awards.. Now who is sick here?!?!
