Temuera Morrison joins cast of Spartacus prequel

Temuera Morrison has dived into the sex and gore fest that is the new Spartacus series by signing on to the prequel, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.

The Kiwi actor has joined the cast of the second series which will serve as a prequel to the events seen in Spartacus: Blood and Sand which is due to hit NZ screens on the Box this month.

Morrison will take on the role of Doctore, trainer of the gladiators and predecessor to Peter Mensah’s Oenomaus.

Fellow Kiwi Lucy Lawless plays the part of Lucretia in the first season, shot on location in NZ, which begins on the Box on August 22 at 9:30pm.
