International Doco: Too Fat For 15 on TV3

9:30pm – Wednesday, September 29 on TV 3

Fifteen-year-old, 210kg British food addict Georgia Davis is too young for surgery so she is now embarking on a journey to transform her life. Georgia will be spending nine months at a boarding school in the United States for obese teens. Make sure not to miss her incredible story when Too Fat for 15 screens on Wednesday, September 29th at 9:30pm on 3.

Georgia, who has a food intake of 13,500 calories a day – the average woman should consume 2,000 calories – is heading to a weight loss specialist organisation based in the USA in a desperate bid to save her life.

“Doctors have told me I could drop dead at any moment,” Georgia tells The Sun newspaper about her tragic condition. “I can’t walk more than a few steps without getting out of breath, and a few months ago I developed Type 2 diabetes.”

“It’s like a drug. Some people choose heroin but I’ve chosen food and it’s killing me,” she continues.

In a typical day Georgia’s diet includes a medium chocolate cake, six packets of crisps, eight pints of milk, two loaves of bread and two plates of chips.

“When I look in the mirror I feel sad and go into my room and cry. I know it’s partly my fault. But it’s so hard to stop eating.”

Georgia, who says she started comfort-eating at the age of five after her father died of emphysema, will now be flying out to Wellspring Academy, in North Carolina, to begin the weight loss programme.

According to Wellspring Academy, Georgia was introduced as a potential camper last year at its UK summer camp in the Lake District.

“Over the past 12 months, as Wellspring maintained contact with Georgia, things worsened for her and her family,” says a Wellspring Academy representative.

“Georgia is now ready to make the behavioural changes required to become a long-term weight controller.”

But will the Wellspring Academy prove the answer for this obese teen? Find out when Georgia sets out on her lifesaving journey in Too Fat For 15, screening on Wednesday, September 29th at 9:30pm on 3
