In the wake of Paul Henry’s comments today regarding the Governor-General, Breakfast’s gadget and tech presenter Ben Gracewood has decide to step down from his role as a stand against Henry’s remarks.
On his blog, Gracewood explained that he had emailed his resignation to TVNZ after hearing of the comments made by Henry in an interview with John Key on this morning’s show on TV One.
In an official statement Gracewood said: “Paul Henry’s comment made me very uncomfortable as a New Zealander, and I don’t wish to associate, or be associated with people who make such comments. Although I doubt that my actions will in anyway influence someone such as Paul Henry, I do not wish to appear to condone his perspectives by my inaction.”
Gracewood says that he will continue blogging on technology on his website but that his association with Breakfast will be cut while Henry is on the show.
