Today on Breakfast Paul Henry has questioned whether or not our Governor-General Sir Anand Satyanand is actually a New Zealander.
Henry was speaking to Prime Minister John Key at the time and first questioned him as to whether Satyanand was a kiwi before asking Key if next time he would pick someone who looked more like a New Zealander.
Key assured Henry that he was indeed a New Zealander before dismissing the second question by joking about whether Henry wanted the job.
Satyanand is a New Zealander of Indian and Pacific ancestry. Having been born in Auckland he attended Richmond Road School and Sacred Heart College before moving on to careers in law and ultimately the Governer-General role.
