Offspring on One

9:30pm Sunday, February 20 on TV One

From the creators of The Secret Life Of Us comes TV ONE’s hot new drama, Offspring, which centres on life and loves of Nina Proudman (Asher Keddie, Underbelly) an obstetrician in a busy Melbourne hospital.

Don Hany plays Chris, Nina’s new love interest, talking to the Sydney Morning Herald online, Hany jokes about securing the role of the handsome newcomer, “It was no surprise to me, I am an incredibly good looking man.”

More seriously Hany admits, “it’s the last thing an Australian man wants to take any credit for.”

He continues, “I am really fortunate because Asher’s portrayal of Nina is so convincing that most audience members have no option but to give in to her obsession with Chris”.

Talking about working in a hot new drama series, Hany says “there seems to be a saturation within the crime genre. I think we have gotten reality television out of our system, which was important to get through. At the moment the show takes advantage of a real gap.

I would imagine that guys would enjoy and learn from the show,” he says. “It’s interesting to be inside a woman’s head during these moments, during the catch and chase phase of a relationship,” says Hany.

In episode two Nina vows to take charge of her love life, but as things with Brendan come to an end, Chris struggles to explain his past and Nina is left uncertain about their relationship. While the Proudman family adjust to life with their newest member, baby Ray.
