Fourth series of Go Girls confirmed

TVNZ and NZ On Air are delighted to announce that Go Girls will be back for a fourth series in 2012.

Series three (currently on air) is proving to be another ratings winner with 18-39 year olds, as audience numbers continue to swell. It is this continued positivity towards the show which has lead to the fourth series being funded by NZ On Air for a further 13 episodes.

Jeff Latch, Head of TV ONE and TV2, says, “TVNZ prides itself on delivering shows that New Zealanders want to see and Go Girls continues to be embraced by huge numbers of TV2 viewers. Thanks to NZ On Air and the talented team at South Pacific Pictures we can continue to make this winning drama.”

Jane Wrightson, Chief Executive of NZ On Air, said the funding agency is delighted with Go Girls’ success. “Our strategy is to have a great drama series on each of the main channels, serving different audiences. Our continued investment in Go Girls on TV2 is testament to the popularity of this terrific series,” she said.

Kathleen Anderson, Drama Commissioner, says that, “New Zealand drama is going from strength to strength and audiences are telling us that they want to watch more good-quality local programmes. TVNZ is delighted to continue to support the local industry and will strive to bring audiences more of what they love.”

Production on the fourth series will commence later in the year and it will screen on TV2 in 2012.
