Top Model auditions begin

The first auditions for the new cycle of New Zealand’s Next Top Model began over the weekend, with hopefuls in Auckland and Wellington turning out to try and land a spot on the show. Auditions continue this week around the country.

Entourage actor lands pilot role

Entourage actor Kevin Dillon has joined the new comedy pilot How To Be A Gentleman alongside It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor David Hornsby. Dillon plays Johnny ‘Drama’ Chase on Entourage, which is ending its run of eight seasons this year.

Grohl criticizes Glee creator

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is the latest artist to criticize Glee creator Ryan Murphy for “thinking anybody and everybody should want to do” the show. Grohl said: “You shouldn’t have to do f***ing Glee. And then the guy who created Glee is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his f***ing show… I watched ten minutes [of it]. It’s not my thing.”

Applegate scores lead role

Christina Applegate has joined the cast of a new comedy pilot from the pen of Saturday Night Live writer Emily Spivey. Applegate has landed the lead role in the project.

US X Factor signs first judge

The US version of The X Factor has confirmed its first judge in record producer L.A. Reid. The Island Def Jam chairman will take up a spot on the panel for the series that begins later this year.
