NOTHING TRIVIAL, a new South Pacific Pictures comedy/drama for TV ONE, is now in production.
From acclaimed writers Rachel Lang (Go Girls, This is Not My Life, Outrageous Fortune) and Gavin Strawhan (Go Girls, This is Not My Life, Burying Brian), NOTHING TRIVIAL is a light-hearted and comedic drama based around five friends with two things in common: a pub quiz and the fact that each of them is unlucky or unhappy in love.
The show stars Shane Cortese (Burying Brian, Outrageous Fortune), Tandi Wright (This is Not My Life, Out of the Blue), Nicole Whippy (Outrageous Fortune, Jacksons Wharf), Blair Strang (Go Girls, Kaitangata Twitch) and Debbie Newby-Ward (Legend of the Seeker, The Pretender). Series directors include Mark Beesley (Outrageous Fortune, Legend of the Seeker) and Murray Keane (Outrageous Fortune, Shortland Street).
NOTHING TRIVIAL is funny, warm and romantic and about people at a crossroads in their lives, particularly when it comes to finding that significant other to love and grow old with. It’s about people trying to find the answers to life’s big questions, while answering a whole lot of small and trivial ones… and winning the bar tab while they’re at it!
The 13 x one hour series is being produced by Britta Johnstone (Go Girls 3) and Chris Bailey (Go Girls, Street Legal) for South Pacific Pictures. It will screen on TV ONE later this year.
NOTHING TRIVIAL is supported from NZ On Air’s contestable TV fund, from which around $66 million a year is invested to create a varied range of content for different audiences.
