Gordon Ramsay case going to trial

The dispute involving celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and a kiwi company will go to trial following discussions at the High Court in Auckland today.

Ramsay, known for appearing on TV shows such as Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen, is being sued by the Duco Events after failing to follow through with charity appearances to raise money for a sick kiwi girl.

David Higgins, director of Duco Events, is happy to see the case go to trial.

“I feel like we have a very strong case and I’ll see it right through to the end.”

Ramsay pulled out of the events after his mother suffered a minor heart attack. He rescheduled for later in the year but pulled out again to take care of business matters in the UK.

The chef then offered to make a monetary donation to the charity.

The trial will take place in August.
