Campaign 2011 on Prime

Sunday 6th November 10.45pm

Election Special

Campaign 2011 will provide viewers with insight into some of the issues facing New Zealand and provide access to politicians from both major and minor parties in the lead up to this year’s election. The four programmes comprised in the Campaign 2011 series will include a debate involving the leaders of the small parties in Parliament, separate “Meet the Press” sessions with Prime Minister John Key and Labour Leader Phil Goff, followed by the final programme on the upcoming MMP referendum.

Each of these specials will be moderated by broadcasting veteran Barry Soper (Prime, NewstalkZB and SKY News political editor) with questions coming from a panel of some of the country’s top journalists. The panel will be headlined by two of the country’s most eminent political journalists; Audrey Young (Political Editor, NZ Herald) and Vernon Small (National Affairs Editor, Fairfax). Campaign 2011 will cover some of the big issues for this election and our politicians: the economy, poverty and welfare, taxation, the future of the Treaty of Waitangi, the MMP referendum, education, health and foreign policy.
