Hayley Holt added to Fight For Life line-up

Crowd Goes Wild reporter Hayley Holt will take to the ring twice in one week for two charity boxing bouts.

Holt will fight kiwi surfer Paige Hareb in the second of two fights she will be involved in for charity in late November and early December.

The pair have been added to the card for the Fight For Life night, which involves former rugby and rugby league players taking to the ring in aid of prostate cancer.

“They’re very keen to do it and it’s for a good cause,” said promoter David Higgins. “We respect the views of people who are against it. But, ultimately, we did surveys and research and there’s been an overwhelming response that people want to see these two women get it on in the ring. There’s a whole lot of blokes boxing, why shouldn’t they be allowed to?”

A week before the bout with Hareb, Holt will be taking part in a Christchurch boxing night that will raise funds for youth charities in the region as well as well as those affected by the earthquake.

She will be fighting cyclist Emma Ferguson in aid of Kids Can.
