Top stories on ONE News and 3 News: December 6, 2011

Here is a run down of the 5 most important stories on One News and 3 News tonight.  Please leave your comments on the bulletins in the comments below.

ONE News

1. Maersk dumps Auckland for Tauranga (Nicole Chalmers-Ross, live cross)
2. Acrobat falls off building (Donna-Marie Lever)
3. Charter schools (Kim Vinnell)
4. Charter schools (Jessica Mutch, live cross)
5. Pike River Royal Commission (Vicky Wilkinson-Baker)

3 News

1. Maersk dumps Auckland for Tauranga (Tony Field, live cross)
2. Pike River Royal Commission (Rachel Morton)
3. 20 year old girl falls off building
4. Labour leadership (Duncan Garner)
5. Blood Diamonds (Tom Clarke, Channel 4)

The big story of the day is the Ports of Auckland’s loss of Maersk to Tauranga in the middle of industrial action.

ACT’s Charter Schools policy gets the twice over on One News. While it’s the Labour leadership ongoing story that makes 3 News.

3 News’ Blood Diamond story seemed more of a 60 Minutes piece than a top 5 story.  It’s hard to know with these types of stories as to whether the the footage is actually relative. Lots of machine gun toting Africans look dangerous and dramatic but could have been from any conflict in the region.
