8:30pm Monday, February 13 on TV2
All good things eventually come to an end, and in the final season of this landmark show, the stakes are at an all-time high. A two-time winner of the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy, Desperate Housewives returns tonight to TV2.
Desperate Housewives is a primetime soap with a truly contemporary take on “happily ever after.” The series, which takes a darkly comedic look at suburbia, where the secret lives of housewives aren’t always what they seem, began with Mary Alice Young inside her perfect house, in the loveliest of suburbs, taking her own life. Commenting from her elevated point of view, she took us into the lives of her family, friends and neighbours.
For this final season, Carlos’ (Ricardo Chavira) murder of Gaby’s (Eva Longoria) evil stepfather and the cover up by Susan (Teri Hatcher), Gaby, Bree (Marcia Cross) and Lynette (Felicity Huffman) has far-reaching effects. Feelings of guilt begin to overcome everyone in different ways.
Susan starts to withdraw from her friends and family, and Gaby works to reach out to Carlos as his guilt weighs heavily on him. While Lynette and Tom are grappling with their disintegrating marriage and impending separation, Lynette is having trouble making the right choices ever since she participated in the cover-up. And Bree must be especially careful around her new love, Detective Chuck Vance (Jonathan Cake).
Meanwhile, a new sexy neighbour moves to town, Ben Faulkner, played by well-known Kiwi and Aussie actor Charles Mesure (Outrageous Fortune, This is Not My Life), and he’s Renee’s (Vanessa Williams) first order of business.
