This is interesting. Yellowstone drew more viewers than Masterchef. Of course it might just be because some of Masterchef’s usual audience decided they’d rather watch a tradesman jerking off on Target instead. But 610,160 viewers for a natural history documentary series which TVNZ originally threw away at 5pm on Sunday afternoons last year. (Yes, this “Brand New” series is a repeat). The programmers and marketing whiz kids will be scratching their heads this morning.

I wonder if its “older” demos watching these natural history documentaries in bigger numbers. No doubt TVNZ decided to repeat the series in prime time when they discovered they actually rate.

Pretty soft debut for GCB after all the promotion but its been axed so it will be a short run anyway. Rookie blue after last nights final has hopefully seen its last day in prime time, but there just seems to be little successful new content from the US that TV2 could play.

One News had a higher audience number than normal. I always laugh when 700,000 people watch the news, then over half bugger off for Close Up, then they all come back for the 7:30 timeslot. It will happen again tonight with Fair Go on
