This week’s Skins sees the introduction to a brand new character when we meet Alex (Sam Jackson), the new kid at Roundview College. Skins screens on Monday, July 2 nd at 9:30pm on FOUR. Speaking about joining the established Skins cast, Sam Jackson says the experience was “bit daunting at first”. “I had to hit the ground running a little bit because the first filming I did was filming for episode three [this week's episode], which is Alex’s episode – my episode,” the actor explains.

“So I was straight into it. I just had to take people’s advice on board and do the best I could, really.” Luckily the actor soon made friends, both on and off screen. “Laya [Lewis, who plays Liv], who’s in episode three a bit, looked after me a lot, so that was really good,” Jackson sys.

As for what fans can expect from his character, Jackson says: “He likes to live his life almost by chance, really.” “He writes down six options on these cards and he picks a new card every day. Then just at random points during the day, when he gets a bit bored or whatever, he rolls the dice and sees what comes up.”
