U viewers voted for their favourite V48HOURS short film in U Presents – V48HOURS 10 of the Best voting competition.
U supports budding filmmakers and celebrated the annual filmmaking competition by bringing you the slickest, smoothest and strangest films, all made within the space of 48 furious hours.
Over Sunday 3rd, 10th and 17th June, U Presents – V48HOURS 10 of the Best took you down memory lane with the all-time, greatest 48HOURS short films ever made.
The winning film (as voted by U viewers) will be presented with the TVNZU Greatest 48 Short Of All Time award by U’s own Rose Matafeo, at the V48HOURS Grand Final, Saturday 30th June at Auckland’s Civic Theatre.
After viewing nearly 1,000 hours of short films, 50 national and international judges; including Elijah Wood (actor, The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Larry Karaszewski (writer, Ed Wood, The People vs. Larry Flynt), have selected the 2012 Grand Finalists and Sir Peter Jackson Wildcards.
2012 marks the 10th year of New Zealand’s largest filmmaking competition. With over 4,000 short films produced since the competition’s inception in 2003, V48HOURS has become an iconic annual event and a firm fixture in the film industry calendar.
U viewers have the chance to win 1 of 40 double passes to the Grand Final, thanks to V.
