I’m planning on watching Grimm and Criminal Minds
At 8.30pm, on Four, is Grimm. I missed the series premiere last week but I have heard such good reports about this show that I will have to catch up on ondemand.
For those of you who don’t know about this show, it’s a new drama series inspired by the classic Grimm’s fairy tales. Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt discovers he is descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as ‘Grimms’, charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world.
Episode two, which screens tonight, is based on the tale of Goldilocks. Nick and Hank investigate a breaking-and-entering case that leads them to a mysterious family with a cultural heritage of blurring the line between right and wrong.
It is the season finale of Criminal Minds on TV One tonight at 8.30pm, and Will remains a hostage to the murderous bank robbers.
I’m a long-time fan of this show and was very excited when Emily (Paget Brewster) and JJ returned this season (after having been written out of the series), as they are both fantastic characters. However, it was reported a few weeks ago [SPOILER ALERT!] that Paget Brewster is leaving the show again, this time on her own terms. We will have to wait and see how her character makes her exit tonight.
At 9.25pm on BBC Knowledge, it’s Road Warriors: The Extra Mile. For anyone who watches Ice Road Truckers or World’s Deadliest Roads, those shows have got nothing on this one. In this show, army truckers drive some of the most dangerous roads in the world to get to the frontline troops in Afghanistan. So, not only are they tasked with driving big trucks on trecherous roads, but they face the threat of rocket attacks and snipers along the way. To say you’d have to have nerves of steel for that job is an understatement.
As an aside, this week is the final week that TVNZ7 will broadcast, so make sure you watch some of its great shows while you can.
