What are you watching on TV tonight? Wednesday 20 June

I’m planning on watching The GC and The Big Bang Theory

Hands up who has actually been watching The GC? (TV3, 8pm). I have to admit that I sometimes have it on in the background if I’m doing something else (like checking Facebook), and then more often than not, I actually start watching it.

Last week’s episode certainly had plenty of the cultural factor that TV3 has been promising would feature more in the show, as DJ Tuini visited New Zealand to find out about her background. It was actually quite an emotional episode! I was watching it with my sister, and we both agreed that when set in New Zealand, the show is far better than usual, as we get to see ‘real’ people; not just the bronzed, buff, slightly plastic-looking folk of the Gold Coast.

However, that isn’t the point of this show, so this week it’s back to the GC for the final episode, where Cole’s gym is due to open, Jade Louise heads to a studio to record her first single, and Nate decides to get driving lessons. I wonder if this show will get a second season?

The Big Bang Theory (TV2, 8.30pm) sounds like it’s going to be very funny tonight. Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is in geek heaven when his idol, the legendary science-fiction icon Leonard Nimoy (Dr Spock), drops in, lending his voice to a unique reprisal of his three-time Emmy nominated Star Trek role.

For anyone who has been watching The Biggest Loser, it’s the two-hour grand final tonight (cue multiple jaw-dropping transformations!) at 8.30pm on Four. The person who has lost the most weight wins $250,000! Not bad, considering I’m sure most of them would be happy just to be thinner.
