HBO has renewed The Newsroom (coming soon to Soho) for a second season after just two episodes. The show has received criticism for its portrayal of the media and women in the industry, but it has been a hit with audiences so far.

Anderson Cooper comes out of the closet

Anderson Cooper, a CNN news anchor and daytime talkshow host, has finally told audiences that he is gay. His sexuality has been the subject of much speculation for years, but he had never publicly confirmed rumours until now. He made the announcement in an email to writer Andrew Sullivan.

Unforgettable uncancelled

Poppy Montgomery’s show Unforgettable (starting soon on TV One) has been given a reprieve, after having been cancelled earlier this year. CBS has ordered 13 more episodes of the show.

The Blackfish cast on Game of Thrones

A London talent agency has reported that one its actors, Clive Russell, has won the role of Ser Brynden ‘The Blackfish’ Tully on the next season of Game of Thrones. His character will help Robb Stark’s battle against the Lannisters.
