Choice TV going On Demand

This week sees Choice TV launch ‘Choice TV On Demand’, specifically designed for a multi-media Kiwi audience.

The launch comes just ten weeks after the lifestyle and entertainment channel launched across New Zealand, on Freeview Channel 12.

Viewers who may have missed an episode or want to see their favourite show again, can simply go to to catch up!

Alex Breingan, Choice TV’s General Manager says “New Zealanders are so busy these days and we know from our overwhelming feedback that they love the shows on Choice TV. We felt it was vital to have the opportunity for viewers to catch up on missed episodes, so we’ve been developing Choice TV On Demand for just that reason”.

Choice TV on Demand has been developed with New Zealand company e-cast Ltd. It’s been specifically designed to be easily viewed on iPads and iPhones as well as Mac and PC – a first for TV in New Zealand.

e-cast Ltd’s Managing Director Steve Brebner says e-cast is delighted to partner with Choice TV. “Our goal was to build a bespoke On Demand product at a very competitive price, as there is significant demand from a range of broadcasters both Live and on demand. e-cast works closely with Orcon and is an on seller of Orcon’s powerful NZ based CDN (content delivery network).”

Viewers will see a baseline pop-up on screen during the shows that are available On Demand. And of course as the weeks go by, Choice TV’s On Demand library will continue to build.

Choice TV is available nationwide on Freeview Channel 12. It launches on Channel 78 on SKY in September.
