The ex-pat kiwi who lost his cool over an Australian TV ad that poked fun at the New Zealand accent has admitted charges of common assault and using offensive language.
Max Barrett, 44, took offense to an ad for a furniture retailer who used fake kiwi accents in a TV ad and abused the retailer’s staff over the phone before entering the WIN regional TV offices in Griffth and continuing his rant.
Barrett pleaded guilty to the charges of common assault, using offensive language and misusing a telecommunications service but entered no plea to charge sof intimidation, resisting arrest and intimidating police.
The case in Griffith Local Court was adjourned until August 29.
