MasterChef NZ favourite has car stolen from outside home

Stuff is reporting that former MasterChef New Zealand contestant Cameron Petley has had his Toyota Hilux stolen from outside his Putaruru home.

Petley was one of the fan favourites from the second season of the TV One series, reaching the top six before his was eliminated on The Chocolate Tower off Terror challenge.

He said the car was stolen from the driveway of his house during the early hours of Monday morning.

“I’m not happy I can tell you,” he said.

“The dogs went off and I went out and told them to shut-up and went back to bed. Then my wife came in the next morning and said ‘where did you park the car’ and I said ‘in the drive’ and she said ‘well it isn’t there now’. So I ran out and sure enough it was gone.”

He believes the thieves wouldn’t have got far as the car was running on E.

Petley is currently the head chef at Master’s Table in Putaruru and has a cook book due to be released next month.
