Brooke (Beth Allen) issues her mother a powerful ultimatum this week on Shortland Street.
Desperate to broker a connection between her alcoholic mother and her fragile sister, Brooke makes it clear to Annette (Louise Wallace), that she needs to make an effort with Bree (Rachael Blampied) or pack her bags.
Taking notice, Annette attempts a bonding session with Bree and lies, telling her it was her husband who insisted Bree be adopted out against her will, leaving Bree satisfied that the decision was beyond her mother’s control.
But when Bree pushes erratic Annette too far with her attempts at friendship, it’s not long before Annette snaps and reveals the vicious truth: getting rid of Bree was all her doing.
