Daniel (Ido Drent) struggles to maintain control of his affairs this week on Shortland Street.
Wounded by a failed business deal with Rachel (Angela Bloomfield), Daniel has a change of heart when Josh (Chris Tempest) encourages him not to give up and suggests he invest in a new scheme; purchasing shoes to sell to the hospital staff.
Daniel explores the idea further but is quickly dismayed when he realises how much money he would need to invest.
Josh offers him the money to get the business started and Dan thinks things are looking up, but when Josh starts taking an authoritative stand regarding the business decisions, he is forced to realise that accepting a helping hand has come at a cost.
