What are you watching on TV tonight? Thursday 12 July

I’m planning on watching Doomsday Preppers and My Mother Diana

Doomsday Preppers screens on National Geographic at 7.30pm tonight. It explores the lives of otherwise ordinary Americans who are preparing for the end of the world as we know it. I can’t decide if these people are incredibly sensible or incredibly paranoid. Probably a bit of column A and a bit of column B.

I have yet to make an earthquake survival kit but once I do, that will be about the extent of my readiness for disaster. I have a feeling that these people may be going a little too far. On tonight’s episode, a family man prepares his family for armageddon, and a tech wizard demonstrates his post-apocalyptic communications system.

Prime has yet another documentary on the royal family tonight at 7.30pm. This week it’s My Mother Diana, and it looks at the relationship between Diana and Prince William, and how her very public life and relationships may have impacted him while growing up.

A new season of Embarrassing Bodies screens on TV2 at 8.30pm. This show must surely only be for people who enjoy getting grossed out…or people who want to feel better about themselves. On tonight’s episode a man needs his bent you-know-what straightening, and a mobile clinic gives people advice on how to deal with bad flatulence. Seriously. Not my cup of tea, but it may appeal to some of you. If it does, can you please tell me why?!
