What are you watching on TV tonight? Tuesday 24 July

I’m planning on watching First Crossings

First Crossings starts on TV One tonight at 8.30pm. Two Kiwi adventurers, Kevin Bigger and Jamie Fitzgerald, recreate the journeys of our early pioneer explorers.

Judging from the promos, this show is going to be worth watching, if only for the beautiful scenery, but it looks like it will have plenty of hair-raising moments too, including going over the treacherous Southern Alps!

Also premiering tonight, on Four at 8.30pm, is Whitney. It’s a comedy about a happily unmarried couple, Whitney and Alex. Together for three years, the duo is in no rush to get hitched, which seems to get a mixed response from their friends.

On the first episode, Whitney and Alex are preparing to go to a wedding – but with half of all marriages ending in divorce; Whitney can’t understand why people want to tie the knot.
